Toshiya was in the band, Deathmask, before joining Dir en grey. There's no doubt that he is a potential bassist. The bass line in their songs are characteristic, and always catchy.

[The Five Star Story] Toshiya is a big fan of "The Five Star Story", he is a otaku (fans addicted to manga and anime). He likes the drawing style of the mangaka, all the characters are drwan so details which make Toshiya so impress.

Toshiya is a very emotional person, in other words, he cries easily. In
the FC only live in 24/3, he talked about the sudden death of the member of
the past band he joined, and asked everbody to sing "Akuro no Oka"
together for his friend. Toshiya was so touching at that time and cried.
When Dir en grey first performed in Nakano Sun Plaza in 1998, Toshiya's father
come to watch them. Toshiya noticed that his father kept standing during the
whole live. Then he asked his father why he didn't sit down and take rest,
his father answered, "You performed so hard on the stage and I must stand
up to watch!" Toshiya was touched by his father and his tears came out...

When he was
graduated from high school, there were two ways for him to choose, design
or band.

I had thought of working in design related areas, but there was no jobs
suitable for me at that time. Then I decided to continue my study in
the professional academy, and I had to choose between design and band.
Finally, I chose band. |

| Kyo: | I think we have many similarities, both of us are boo, and always sleeping. When I first know him, I think he's a wonderful bassist. Then our phone communications started between Osaka and Nagano. |
| Kaoru: | Tall, thin, with blue hair and smart. But he just like a boo normally, that's hard to imagine. |
| Die: | Suddenly, I was surprised by a guy on the stage with rabbit ears and pony-tail. That image appeared in front of me when I was in a musical instrument shop, "Hey, how come!" I thought. When we are on the stage , he always stay very near to Kaoru. (laugh) Also, he's weak in get up early. Does his origianl character really boo? I don't know. |
